Avoid Frosty Foot Syndrome while biking to work
Commute by bike has a very relevant post on avoiding cold feet while cycling.
Check it out here: Winter Cycling? Don’t get cold feet.
And while randomly searching for stuff on the web I came across something that made me laugh, but may be old hat to you motorcyclists and hunters out there: Heated Socks .
I don’t know. Something about a cord sticking out of a pair of socks just doesn’t sit well with me.
But as many winter cyclists know, cold feet are definitely no fun. Personally, I like to wear insulated boots and nice warm wool socks. That seems to do the trick.
What about you?

Neoprene booties. They’re actually pretty cheap, about the price of a cheap pair of biking shoes, and they last for a decade or more. You wear regular shoes inside the booties.
Another key to foot comfort doing anything outside in the winter: keep your shoes/boots laced loosely. Tight lacing cuts off blood flow, which is no big deal in the summer, but you need that blood flow in the winter to keep warm.
