New Safety on Seventh Blog

Filed under: Your commute options, advocacy, biking, walking — Nancy Shore @ 11:44 am

Here’s a hyperlocal blog for you.  It’s called S.O.S. Safety on Seventh

From their blog:

“Join others in our community in standing up for safety on the well traveled sidwalks and cross walks of the Old West Side. SOS’s goals: * Change community attitudes to favor pedestrians and cyclists * Increase walking and other pedestrian activity * Preserve the pedestrian-friendly communities of Ann Arbor * Advance the equitable use of transportation funds * Reduce the risk to pedestrians and cyclists of injury and death.”

The quiet during the storm: it’s go!pass time

You might have noticed that things have been awfully quiet on the getDowntown blog lately.  That’s because we are hard at work getting go!passes together for the new go!pass season, which starts on November 1.  We should be able to deliver passes before this date.

And as always, if you’d like to submit a blog post for us to put up, that would be great.  Simply email your thoughts to info@getdowntown.org

Work in downtown Ann Arbor? Take this Segway Survey

Filed under: research — Nancy Shore @ 8:45 am

Hey blog readers:

I am working with some UM Students on a project to determine the feasibility of a shared Segway Service in downtown Ann Arbor.

The basic idea is to have Segways available for people to use when they are downtown, kind of like a bike sharing program.

In order to get a sense of what people think about this program, they’ve put together a short survey.

You can take the survey by clicking here: Segway Survey or by going here: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=4jEZM0De_2b_2b_2fLrL67KVcD_2bA_3d_3d

Thanks!
