Local Cycling Community Rallies Around Anti-Cycling Comments on Radio Show

Streetsblog reports on a local incident that has gained national attention.  A local radio show, Deminski and Doyle on WCSX recently suggested that it is ok to think about throwing things at cyclists who bike on the street.

This message did not sit well with the Washtenaw Biking and Walking Coaltion, who mobilized the community to send letters of protest to the radio station.

As a result of their efforts, WBWC Board Member Paul Alman was invited to the show to give his side of the story.

Clearly the cyclist community here in Ann Arbor is strong and not willing to let hateful comments about cyclists fill the airways without pushing back.  As more people consider biking as a transportation option, I believe it’s important to have someone looking out for us.  Thanks WBWC for your efforts!
