Give your feedback on the New Blake Transit Center, Jan 11 and 12
FYI from TheRide:
Feedback sought on new transit center plans
Plans for the new Blake Transit Center (BTC) will be unveiled for public comment at two feedback sessions to be held at the current transit center by the Ann Arbor Transportation Authority (TheRide) next week.
Three displays showing the floor plan, signage and Internet technology plan and ideas for customer amenities will be set up inside the BTC from 3:00-6:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 11 and from 7:00-10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 12.
“We’re looking for input from the community to make the new transit center a dynamic transportation hub and a welcoming destination in the downtown area,” TheRide’s Manager of Maintenance and BTC Project Manager Terry Black said.
“Visitors to the displays will be able to help us shape the new BTC by completing a brief survey in any, or each, of the display areas. We’ll use the survey results to help us finalize the plan so that we can move on to construction of the center this year.”
Plans call for the construction of the new BTC on the southeast corner of the current site. The current transit center waiting area and office will be open for as long as possible during the construction. Once construction begins, buses will board and deboard passengers along adjacent streets.

Could you post the drawings and surveys on your web-site for those unable to make it to either of the feedback sessions?

Where can I find details about the “Internet technology plan”. Specifically, are there any plans to improve the mobile app? Could we have someone who actually takes the bus create the app (I volunteer, but I am sure you can find several others who will offer to help too), so that the creator of the app is intimately aware of the needs of the rider.
Thanks,

Sobha,
Comment by Nancy Shore — January 10, 2012 @ 11:59 amThank you for your comment. I will pass along your information to the IT Department at the TheRide. They are definitely working on a mobile app as part of their plan for the new website.
