FYI:

Know someone who loves community organizing and wants to do more of it?
Transit for Livable Communities is expanding our organizing program and hiring a new organizer!

A new transportation system for the 21st century is coming. Communities and elected officials are working for better walking and bicycling infrastructure, new light rail, commuter rail, and bus rapid transit, and now, high speed rail. But we can’t do it without YOU! TLC’s commitment to engage community members in our work helped make possible the new funding won in 2008 for transitways and the prevention of service cuts and fare increases in 2009-2010, despite a deficit in the transit operating budget.

A second community organizer will expand our capacity to build a base of active and informed supporters for transit, bicycling, walking, and thoughtful development. More supporters means more elected officials hearing from constituents. More people who understand the resources and policies needed for a truly balanced transportation system. More people working at multiple levels of government to align neighborhoods, cities, counties, the state, and Congress to work for transportation choices.

We are excited to take this new step and look forward to getting more of you engaged in the movement! Pass the word, and check out the job description and application process on our website. Contact Michelle Dibblee, Senior Organizer, with questions or for more information (651-767-0298 or michelled@tlcminnesota.org).
